Xantus and the Environment

During our time in business Xantus has built a reputation for caring about our customers, people and the communities in which we work. Caring for the environment has always been an integral part of this and is one of the core values of the Xantus brand.

We aim to continuously improve our performance in this area and we have looked at how each aspect of our business affects the environment. Below is a list of priorities and areas where we will commit our efforts.

Waste

• We will minimise our use of paper and other office consumables and
  where practical use recycled paper
  
• We will recycle waste paper
  
• As far as possible, we will reuse or recycle all other office waste
  including redundant equipment

Communications

• We will encourage open discussions on the issues affecting us by talking, listening and responding to our customers and other stakeholders
  
• We will ensure all our staff are fully aware of this policy

Global warming

As a member of the Carbon Neutral Network of Companies we will make every effort to reduce both direct and indirect carbon emissions by the energy we use in both buildings and transport by:-

• Minimising travel
  
• Encouraging shared transportation
  
• Encouraging the use of public transportation where appropriate
  
• For the carbon emissions which we do produce, we commit to an annual assessment by the Carbon Neutral Company and we will financially offset our carbon footprint

For us, environmental management goes beyond just obeying local legislation and preventing pollution. We strongly believe that good environmental practice is good for business, a fundamental corporate responsibility and a key contributor to sustainable development.

All our people have a valuable role to play by implementing this policy within their everyday activities. Putting environmental considerations at the heart of what we do ensures we manage them properly alongside other important business considerations such as safety, quality and value.
