The company has grown rapidly over the years through a series of mergers and takeovers. This has led to a highly fragmented and distributed IT environment, characterised by disparate, isolated systems sourced and managed locally in each region.
Recognising the inefficiencies of maintaining such an environment, the client is working towards a centralised, standardised IT infrastructure which is more cost-effective to manage, and which supports greater flexibility, unity and collaboration across its international operations. Among its priorities is the deployment of a standard global SAP enterprise resource planning system and the consolidation of its global infrastructure across a minimum number of international data centres.
The company asked Xantus to develop an optimal global data centre strategy for its operations worldwide which would meet all of its requirements for simplicity, flexibility and cost-efficiency, but without jeopardising local performance.
