The Client is a large retail organisation with many operations throughout the UK.

Project
The Client was undertaking a rationalisation project to refresh their server estate.

Xantus was engaged to undertake an independent opportunity analysis to enable the Client to better understand the potential benefits that may result from such an exercise. In summary the review covered the following areas:-

• A complete Discovery Audit of the Intel Server Estate, the management disciplines applied, along with all the relevant data and storage management techniques and strategies
• Review of a number of high level architectural options, translated into a robust and suitable preferred target design
• Provision of a high level implementation plan and indicative cost model
• Provision of a standalone Business Case for the proposed design, incorporating a 3 year cost model.

Benefits
The outcome enabled the Client to fully understand the potential benefits that would result from the proposed direction, including indicative financial implications and associated cost savings; also the potential implications on business applications and network infrastructure.
