The DWP had in place a long-term contract for the supply of its telecoms services, which was due to expire within two years. As part of a strategic sourcing initiative, it decided to review its existing contract to make sure it was continuing to deliver optimum value for money, enabling maximum efficiencies.

The Department approached Xantus, as an independent specialist, to help undertake this review and determine the best sourcing approach for its network services, and to do this within the context of the wider Cabinet Office CIO agenda for Shared Services.
